Beaconsfield is a prosperous Buckinghamshire market town. Highly desirable to London commuters, it sits in the picturesque Chiltern Hills, some 30 miles northwest of the capital. The cost of living in the town is high. It currently boasts a population of around 11,000. Perhaps best known as the constituency of Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli, Beaconsfield has also been home to many famous names from the worlds of art and entertainment. Past and present residents of note include Enid Blyton, Terry Pratchett, Robin Gibb, Vernon Kay and GK Chesterton. Beaconsfield is the site of the Bekonscot model village and the National Film and Television School. Its driving schools are extremely well regarded, supplying a steady flow of successful learner drivers to the nearest DSA driving test centres in Slough and High Wycombe.
