Thetford is a town in the county of Norfolk, with a population of approximately 21,500 inhabitants. The town has been in existence since Anglo-Saxon times, when it was the home of the Monarch�s of East Anglia, and the seat of a bishopric. Castle Hill is the highest Norman motte in the UK, although no trace of the former castle remains. The town is also home to a ruined Cluniac priory, which dates from the 12th century. The priory is allegedly haunted, and so draws in tourists who visit the ruins. Many also visit the Bell Inn, which is also said to be haunted. Both the priory and the Inn featured on the TV series �Ghosthunters�. Many visitors to the town also visit Castle Hill, which offers excellent views of Thetford and the surrounding area. The nearest theory test centre to Thetford is in Norwich, approximately 20 miles away, or a 40 minute rail journey. The nearest practical test centre is located in Bury St Edmunds, approximately 10 miles away.
